Here are our views on the wholesale energy market and points of interest on the renewable energy market as well as the latest details of our Renewables Analysed report.
The September issue of Renewables Analysed will include one of the final estimates of the recycle value for 2014/15 (CP13). An oversupply of ROCs is likely to keep the recycle value low for a second year with a greater use of banking than has historically been the case. How will this impact on the recycle value for 2015/16 (CP14)? For a FREE trial please contact us at email@example.com.
Forward wholesale energy prices are at record lows as a result of weakness across the energy market. The summer period is about to end and final maintenance is providing some support to spot gas, although LNG send-out has been strong for much of the summer. Storage will also be key during the winter with temperatures having a strong impact on space heating demand. A prolonged cold spell early in the winter could prove supportive into Q1 16. Renewable generation, particularly wind, will also drive spot power. Wind output during the summer has been higher than average.
Have a look at our Resources section for a Briefings page. This contains analyses of renewables, which we think will be of interest to the renewables industry. The first is on energy in 2013, using DECC’s energy trends statistics. More will be published throughout the year. Please feel free to share them with your colleagues.
